Quiet day

Thank you all for the positive overwhelming love and support over these past few days.  We absolutely appreciate everyones thoughts and prayers.

Today was relatively quiet with only a few updates of note:
  • We were able to meet with the head of the department today, Richard P Porreco M.D. who continued to give us encouraging words of support around the facilities, service, and care we would receive while here.
  • Emily is off the 24x7 monitoring of baby Smith's heart rate, however we still monitor 3 times daily for an hour each time.  The periodic monitoring continues to show a very stable and consistent heart rate for baby Smith.
  • Emily and baby Smith have passed the 48 hour mark from which the time steroids were administered to assist in the development of baby Smith's lungs.  This is a good milestone to pass to ensure the steroids would be fully effective in the event of an imminent birth.
  • Emily has not shown to have or felt many contractions through out today, again any minor irregular contractions are normal at this phase.
  • Emily was able to take a dip in the pool for prenatal care twice today, something she will continue to do daily as this is a preventative measure to stimulate amniotic fluid creation.
  • Visitation from our good friend Jacqueline brought local cuisine to Emily, baby Smith, and Steve.
We are continuing to settle in for the long haul here in Denver, looking for both a routine as well as items to keep us entertained and distracted.  Again we cannot thanks everyone enough for the overwhelming love and support we've received as it has proven to really make our situation better.

Love,
Steve, Emily, and baby Smith
