Back to the beach

Beach Time
Emily and Steve are prepping Toler for his first family beach trip this summer by getting him use to the bright lights.  Actually, he is going back under the lights for additional jaundice therapy to reduce his bilirubin count (not to be confused with Paul Reubens).

Also as you can tell from the picture on the right, Toler is starting to pack on a few ounces.  As of tonight, he is now up to 3lbs. 13oz. (up close to 1/2 lb since birth).  He is now taking 21 cc's (cubic centimeters according to Grandpa Smith) every 4 hours.  Since he is successfully digesting all of his food, we are expecting to lose a couple wires tomorrow and remove his IV.

What's up with all the Plaid?
As you know by now, Emily and Steve were on vacation skiing (Emily was only 'spa'ing) in Colorado when Toler decided to join us.  Because of this, a very limited wardrobe was packed.  Our favorite part of 'care time' is when we get to kangaroo the little bugger and place him on our chest.  The best shirt option is of course a button down, which brings us to our plaid.  Steve luckily packed a couple of button downs, two of which are plaid and not ridiculously large on Emily.  So...this blog will continue to be brought to you by the number 5, the color green, and the pattern plaid.

Since Toler needs to wear the superhero mask all day to keep his eyes safe from the light therapy, he decided to show off his beautiful eyes to Mom & Dad tonight.

Toler checking out Dad
 Good night everyone.

Love,
Steve, Emily and our Beach Boy

  1. Love the picture under the lights! He's beginning to look like he has some "fat" on his body. It is so cute......
