Aw Dookie

Today was a big day for Toler as he had his first chance to root for the Tar Heels against the hated Dook Blue Devils.  We weren't sure if our son had advanced art aptitude or if our nurses also hated the University of New Jersey at Durham as well, but we saw this sign hanging in Toler's crib when we came into the NICU this morning.

She spelled 'Dook' wrong
Mom made sure that Toler wore his UNC onesie, because the Tar Heels are 2-0 with Toler donned in Carolina Blue.
"I'm a Tar Heel Born and a Tar Heel Bred..."
Unfortunately, our little good luck charm got a little excited at half time and peed all over his onesie and Dad while being changed.  Once the onesie was removed, the Tar Heels relinquished their lead.  I'm pretty sure Toler won't mind wearing the onesie for the next year or so, but once puberty hits I think he might be a bit uncomfortable.

On another note, Toler is looking forward to meeting his Grandpa and Grandma Smith this weekend!  Grandpa found some baby pictures of Dad and below is a preview of Son & Dad (at age) side by side.

Mini-me?
Mom, Dad, and Toler are ready to head home soon and have been making plans accordingly with family and friends for our transition home.

Love,
Steve, Emily, and our little Ramsie

  1. Steve you were (and still are) a cutie BUT I think Toler has one upped you. Sounds like the grandmama (mother-in-law), doesn't it? Enjoy Bill and Chris. I know they are excited to meet, not so little anymore, Toler.
