An education

As new parents, Toler's Mom and Dad attended a newborn preemie class this morning.  The primary focus was on the sensory development between 10-40 weeks gestation.  We discussed touch, smell, taste, hearing, and sight development week-over-week.  In addition, we discussed how to read premature babies cues and signals.  This was important as it certainly looks cute when Toler sticks his tongue out, but it is one of several distress signals.  Both Mom and Dad took several tips away from the class to keep Toler more comfortable and acclimate him to us better.

One of the best methods for bonding is of course "kangaroo care" or skin-to-skin holding.  Of course one of the additional benefits is for Toler to climb all over his parents.

Thank you for everyones continued support, we feel the love and well wishes out here in Colorado.
